Geek With Laptop is built to be read without being tracked. This policy explains, plainly, what the site does and does not do with information about you.

What is not collected. The site does not use advertising, analytics scripts from third parties, tracking pixels, social media widgets or cookies for tracking. There are no accounts, no logins and no forms that collect personal information. The only browser storage the site uses is a single local setting that remembers whether you chose the light or dark theme; it never leaves your device and can be cleared through your browser at any time.

What is processed to serve pages. Like every website, the servers and content delivery network that deliver these pages process basic request data, such as the page requested, the time, your browser type and a network address, in order to serve the page and protect the site from abuse. This is standard server operation, is retained only briefly in aggregate form, and is not used to build a profile of you or shared with advertisers.

Email. If you write to the site, your message and address are kept for as long as needed to reply and to keep a record of corrections. You will not be added to any mailing list, because there is none. You can ask for your correspondence to be deleted at any time.

Links. Pages on this site link only to other pages on this site. Where a source is cited, it is named in the text rather than linked, so following a citation is your choice and takes place in your own browser.

Children. The site is general-audience reference material and does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children.

Changes. If this policy changes, the date at the top will change with it and the new text will apply from that date. Questions about privacy can be sent to the address on the contact page.
